“The Amp That I Played Onstage Since the Day I Got It”: Chris Stapleton’s Signature Fender Princeton Amp Is 10% Off Right Now

You may have seen me write elsewhere that the Fender Princeton is, in my opinion, the best tube amp overall. It’s just the right size, it’s got the right amount of power to get incredible tube distortion at a reasonable (subjective) volume, and, with a design that’s gone virtually unchanged since Fender’s midcentury glory days, it’s got a classic look that goes with just about anyone’s vibe.

And when Fender gave Country-soul belter Chris Stapleton his own signature model '62 Princeton, I thought, well, that looks pretty dang cool. With a textured brown vinyl covering and a real leather handle, it’s got a retro country charm that will definitely bring a rustic outlaw vibe to your setup. Cool vintagey radio knobs instead of the standard Fender knobs. It even includes a fabric cover made by Filson!

But it’s not just customized to Stapleton’s spec on the outside—this thing is chock-full of pro modifications that make it sing like Stapleton’s own Princeton. Vintage Blue tone caps, Schumacher transformers, and an output tube-biased tremolo circuit mean big vintage tones as well as vintage looks.

This Princeton is outfitted with dual 6V6 power tubes, 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes, a 12” Eminence Special Design speaker, and footswitchable tremolo. All coming in at just over 30 lbs, this is the perfect companion for the stage and studio.

But yeah, all these custom specs mean this thing runs up a bit higher tab than your standard Princeton. And that is why I am pleased to inform you that Sweetwater is currently offering 10% off on this high-end Fender tube amp. So whether you’ve had your eye on one of these for a while, or are just finding out about it, there’s no better time in sight to grab yours.

Don’t believe me? Just ask Chris.
